Oudomxay Province is located in the Northwest of the country. The province has small border with China to the North where there is a local border check point and Phongsaly Province; to the East, it has border with Luang Prabang Province, to the South it has border with Sayaboury Province separated by the Mekong River and to the West-Luang Namtha Province. Its capital city is Muang Xay. It has 15.370 Km2 and its populatins is 275.300 inhabitants with the density of 18 inhabitants/km2. It has 7 districts.
