Vientiane Province is located in the northwest of the country. The capital city is Phonhong. Its population is 15.927 Km2 and its population is 373.700 inhabitants with the density of 23 inhabitants/Km2. It has border with Provinces Luang Prabang to the North, Xieng Khouang to the North-East, Bolikhamxay to the East, Vientiane Capital and Thailand to the South and Sayaboury to the West. It is made of 12 districts. The main tourist sites is Vang Vieng District with the Nam Song River and several caves.
